I bought a nfusion HD from a friend that said it was working great before you had to go to noi (computer on) he didn't know how to do that so he just kelp it in his closet. My question is the Boot version is 01.05 and the S/W version is V1.35R27F Do I have to upgrade to a newer version?
Now I have a Linksys wrt54g and I Have it flashed for wwrt and I also flash it with Goofathers dd-wr-goo I edited the script and only use the first line server_0= and input my username and password and port number and the DES key I use the quotation marks before the username and after the Des key number. Am I to use the quotation marks or delete them? I left all of the other script in tack. I saved the script and run command. Is this correct?
and on my main router the IP address is 192.168.1.1 and on the dd-wrt router it is 192.168.1.10 Next question is on my Nfusion HD in networking do I set it to static and the first line to 192.168.1.1 and the gateway to 192.168.10?

The router is working great on my laptop and on my limesat I join it to my main router

If you could help me I would appreciate it very much :)

Thanks in Advance

That software V1.35R27F, will work.
Those quotations belong in there, yes.

What am I doing wrong I have a Linksys wrt54g v 8 router I have flashed it with the ww-wrt.v24_micro_generic bin file. I did the 30,30,30 reset each time the instructions said. I then flashed it with the dd-wr-goo.v24_micro_generic -2 bin file . did a 30,30,30 again. I set up the Linksys dd-wrt just like the instructions said.
dd-wrt address is set to 192.168.1.10
subnet is 255.255.255.000
Gateway is 192.168.1.1
I went into commands copied and past and put this in. (I am using the number 1, to be used as my password to protect it.)

. /bin/make_inis

I run commands and saved it on start up
I Joined the dd-wrt router to my main router and it joined OK
When I plug into the dd-wrt router with my laptop using only the Ethernet cable and having wireless on the laptop disable it signs onto the internet just fine My Limesat also works connected to it so I know the Internet is working.

Gateway is 192.168.001.010

I am picking up the free channels great I have great signal strength Could someone put me in the right direction before I trash this Nfusion Receiver HD. I have put in about 40 hours trying to make this work. Just cannot understand what I am doing wrong. I know the password is working because I tried it on my other receiver. I always unplug that receiver when I am using that number so they will not be a conflict with it.

From your Post it looks like your Nfusion HD and your Gateway are both set to 192.168.1.1

Try changing the Nfusion to say 192.168.1.20

Tried that still does not work! my address was set to 192.168.1.1 and the gateway was set to 192.168.1.10 on the nfusion Hd when setting the address you have to put it in like this 192.168.001.001 and the gateway 192.168.001.010
Thanks anyway I will try anything!

Are you going from 1 Router to another ?

Or are you just using 1 Router..

If your using 1 router then the Gateway will almost definately be 192.168.1.1

If your using the WRT and a secondary router then disable DHCP and manually set the WRT to 192.168.1.2

gateway 192.168.1.1 on the wrt..

The set the Nfusion IP to whatever except 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.2

Gateway to the 192.168.1.2 if using the wrt as a secondary router..

I thought I was making myself clear! But hear I will try again Yes I am using 2 routers the one that is connected to my cable modem is a Linksys I will call it Router 1. It puts out a wireless signal and its address is 192.168.1.1 that is how I communicate with it. Router 2. I converted it to a dd-wrt. I also flash it to the goo bin file. I commuicate with the dd- wrt with a 192.168.1.10 address. I go to wireless and do a site survey and when I see my number 1 router, I join to it. I thought that was the main reason to use the ww-rt so you do not have to run a Ethernet cable across the room. You can just set it on top of the Nfusion HD. Or set it in any room in the house and have Internet on it It is used as a client bridge. Just plug the Ethernet cable into any of the 4 outlets. If anyone else has any suggestions I will try anything
I tried the above information but it did not work also. Beside
thunderstruck Super Moderator said and the instructions say set the Ip address on the Nfusion to 192.168.1.1 and the gateway on Nfusion to 192.168.1.10 and this I have done. Please I need help on this I have over 40 hours working with this.

You guys have pretty much gone over what I would have went over...

Looks like someone already pointed out the errors, I will simply redo them here in bold for clarity...

I have the Nfusion HD networking set to
Static
IP Address is 192.168.001.100 - or whatever isn't being used
Subnet is 255.255.255.000
Gateway is 192.168.001.010
On user settings
Emul Off
Network setting is On
Auto update is Off
Fan is On - I'd probably keep the fan on

Now on to basic troubleshooting which was missed here....

To tell if the router is getting internet you run the command in the Administration->Commands tab of the web interface:

echo $(ping google.com)

Click "Run Commands"

If it returns "google.com is Alive!" then the router has Internet

cat /tmp/xxtmp.log

Click "Run Commands"

This is the startup log created by xx-client when it loads. Check it for any errors. xx-client is good at reporting errors, you just have to be able to see them.

On the router the network setup should look something like this (Basic tab):

WAN: disabled

Network Setup:

IP: 192.168.1.10 (or whatever isn't used as long as the NFHD gateway matches this)
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS: 192.168.1.1

DHCP: disabled

Your laptop can have internet, it probably has the DNS and gateway set to the main router. It is simply passing the traffic from the goo router to the primary router.

But your router does not have Internet.

For a computer to have Internet it needs 3 things.

1) An IP
2) a Gateway
3) a DNS server

Same with a router.

So either your router has no Internet at all or there is no DNS set (Could not resolve 9.nfpsserver.tv).

What does your DNS setting look like in the first tab of the dd-wrt web interface? Is it set to 192.168.1.1? If not, that would explain why the server hostname cannot be resolved.

Internet goes to router 1 through a cable modem. From router 1 it sends a signal through the air ( wireless)and the DD-WRT picks up the signal ,.and I Join it to router 1.And router 2 (DD-WRT) is then a bridge you can connect 4 Eithernet cables into the ports and have Internet. I have for years use a DD-WRT as a bridge on my Limesat so I don't have to run a Eithernet cable accross the floor to pick up Internet. I bet when you came out with the goo file it was to be used as the main router, And I am using it in a different way then you programed the goo file to work.

No....actually my main router is a WNDR3700 running OpenWRT. I implemented the nfusion protocol for Linux x86 first (Ubuntu) then when I had it working simply compiled for Atheros and Broadcom (no changes to the source code). I have actually never personally tested the Goo router as the main router.

The long story is, I had no way of testing the Broadcom compile (Atheros compile runs on my WNDR3700) and I remembered having an old wrt54g v8 laying around that had a broadcom CPU. At first I made a startup script that would download all the xx-client files from a local http server and then run xx-client, every time the router rebooted. There was just no space on these things to save files to that would survive a reboot. The /tmp folder is a RAM drive. That is when I decided to disassemble a bin and inject xx-client into it. I had to remove Sputnik Hotspot for it to fit. That is how the goo bin was born.

Now, I did have Client Bridge connection problems at first but when I set it to "b only" those went away. I also don't run anything else off my Goo router mainly because the Goo router has to intercept traffic from the nfusion that is meant for the Internet. By having nothing else connected I was guaranteed nothing else would intercept it before xx-client had a chance to.

goofather

To simplify it, the goo bin was actually envisioned to be a stand alone dongle. Used for nothing else.

This should tell you if it is DNS or Internet. Ping google's IP.

echo $(ping 74.125.228.104)

If it says "74.125.228.104 is alive!", you have Internet but DNS is messed up. If nothing is returned the router still isn't getting Internet for some reason.

There are some routers that are not compatible with each other in "Client Bridge" mode. They don't have an exhaustive list or anything but this is mentioned at the dd-wrt website.

You could try to hardwire it with a cat-5 to a LAN port just for testing purposes. If the goo router suddenly has Internet access then you know it was the Client Bridge that was the problem.

You could even try setting it up as a repeater......

rustbucket

Ok when I run echo $(ping 74.125.228.104) in commands I will get this response back. (I have to run command 3 times to get this response!) No response from 74.125.228.104 When I connected it straight to the Lan port using a cat-5. I un-plugged the goo router to reset it and then I ran the echo $(ping 74.125.228.104) in commands and got the same results! No response from 74.125.228.104. Question do I need to un-join the goo router from the wireless router before I connect the cat-5 to the lan? And when I change the goo router to a repeater I cannot even cummincate with it anymore, until I do a 30-30-30 reset and then I have to change everything back to where it was to start with. I am sorry to be such a pain! But I will try anything to get this goo router to work with my Nfusion HD. I might try getting another wrt54g router and start all over again! And THANKS again for you and mem: help! :)
